This kit provides 4 gusset plates that are laser cut from 1/4" thick steel. Each of the 4 gussets is specifically shaped to match the unique profile of the left and right factory carrier mounting arms. We have made these gussets as large as possible to provide maximum strength gains without interfering with the surrounding factory steering rack components.
The factory carrier mounting arms must be removed from the vehicle in order to weld on our gussets. However, they are very accessible and can be quickly unbolted from the vehicle without removing the differential or any other components (Refer to the pictures taken under the vehicle).
***Please note that only the 1/4" steel gussets are included in this kit. The factory Toyota Front Differential Carrier Mounts are NOT included. If you need to replace those, you can source them from a vehicle part out, auto recycler, or directly from Toyota ( Toyota #52380-04061 for Driver Side and Toyota #52380-04071 for Passenger Side)

Purchased a high clearance bumper kit for my son’s 2nd generation Tacoma. He had almost zero welding experience and thought this would be a great crash course. I am pleased to say I was right. The bumper came out great. The precision of the cuts made tacking it a piece of cake and all the external seam welds get ground smooth anyway, so it was a great place to work on his technique. I highly recommend this project for a great bumper as well as a great learning experience.

Fantastic bumper, even for a novice welder. I really liked how all the pieces just fit together, and the locating tabs were also a big help. The one improvement I would make is to allow a little more room to access the inside of the bumper, or at least slightly larger access holes. Getting the license plate mounted was impossible for me, and the winch mount bolts were difficult. Aside from that, I love it!

The small shop that can AND DOES!!! A project type that always has challenges and no surprise I did. Bandon and the Coastal Offroad team were extremely supportive, service was excellent & responsive, and the product after several off-road excursions and a 10,000 km touring lap from Alberta down the entire Pacific Coast Hwy to Baja Mexico in the fall confirmed the bumpers performed to expectation!
