Steering rack reliability is a well-known weak point on IFS Toyotas running front lockers and 35+ inch tires. Under hard off-road use, the factory steering rack mounting system allows the rack to flex against the frame crossmember, placing significant strain on the steering rack bushings, seals, tie rods, and surrounding steering components. This deflection can lead to premature steering rack failure, increased wear on steering components, and in extreme cases, deformation of the factory frame crossmember itself. Our Steering Rack Double Shear Mount Kit reinforces the factory mounting system by distributing steering loads across a much larger area of the frame and securing the rack in a far stronger double-shear configuration. The kit includes heavy-duty 3/8" steel weld-on reinforcement plates and precision CNC-bent 1/4" steel brackets that work together to dramatically reduce steering rack movement, improve steering durability, and increase confidence when tackling difficult terrain.

Purchased a high clearance bumper kit for my son’s 2nd generation Tacoma. He had almost zero welding experience and thought this would be a great crash course. I am pleased to say I was right. The bumper came out great. The precision of the cuts made tacking it a piece of cake and all the external seam welds get ground smooth anyway, so it was a great place to work on his technique. I highly recommend this project for a great bumper as well as a great learning experience.

Fantastic bumper, even for a novice welder. I really liked how all the pieces just fit together, and the locating tabs were also a big help. The one improvement I would make is to allow a little more room to access the inside of the bumper, or at least slightly larger access holes. Getting the license plate mounted was impossible for me, and the winch mount bolts were difficult. Aside from that, I love it!

The small shop that can AND DOES!!! A project type that always has challenges and no surprise I did. Bandon and the Coastal Offroad team were extremely supportive, service was excellent & responsive, and the product after several off-road excursions and a 10,000 km touring lap from Alberta down the entire Pacific Coast Hwy to Baja Mexico in the fall confirmed the bumpers performed to expectation!
