This is our new high cut front bumper version for the 70 Series Land Cruiser. We took our original high clearance bumper design and raised it up by over 5" for an aggressive look and even more front end ground clearance. It features a bolt-on design, protected winch mount, and one of the best approach angles of any bumper on the market. This bumper allows you to forget about approach angle and substantially improves the offroad capability of your Land Cruiser! It offers excellent protection from rocks, trees and animal strikes and has been kept to a weight of 68lbs through careful design work.
The profile of this bumper has been designed with maximum ground clearance and approach angles put first. The bumper sits as high and tight to the front of the 70 Series Toyota Land Cruiser as possible, while the angled lower faces will smoothly slide over obstacles and ensure you do not get hung up on the trail. The side wings of this bumper wrap around to the front wheel wells and tie directly into the main frame mounting plates for true offroad protection. These side wings will take a serious hit without flexing or deflecting into the vehicle body. We know that most Land Cruiser owners want to run oversized tires and more aggressive wheel offsets. This can create interference issues with the stock front bumper. We have thought ahead and specifically designed these bumper side wings to easily clear 37" tires.
The main section of this bumper is CNC-bent out of a single piece of 3/16" P&O Steel. This greatly reduces the amount of welding and grinding required by you and makes for a cleaner finished product. If you are paying to have the bumper assembled by a welding shop, this significantly lowers the cost.
We finished this bumper off with an integrated winch mount to accept all standard 8-12k lb winches with removable solenoids, and heavy duty 9/16" recovery points that are placed directly in line with the Land Cruiser frame to eliminate any leveraging effects. These recovery points are formed by laser cut steel plates that pass through the bumper shell and tie directly into the Land Cruiser frame as part of the bumper's main mounting brackets. The recovery points then get welded to the in and outside of the bumper shell. These factors all combine to form recovery points that minimize stress on your Land Cruiser frame and provide reliable recoveries of heavily loaded vehicles in the worst of offroad situations. What could make this bumper even better? The low profile design has resulted in very reasonable weights of 68lbs for the steel bumper and 34lbs for the aluminum version. Considering that this bumper replaces your factory bumper and associated components, the resulting weight increase to your Land Cruiser is surprisingly minimal. This reduces added stress on your vehicle, maintains precious payload capacity, and allows you to keep your factory suspension if desired.

Purchased a high clearance bumper kit for my son’s 2nd generation Tacoma. He had almost zero welding experience and thought this would be a great crash course. I am pleased to say I was right. The bumper came out great. The precision of the cuts made tacking it a piece of cake and all the external seam welds get ground smooth anyway, so it was a great place to work on his technique. I highly recommend this project for a great bumper as well as a great learning experience.

Fantastic bumper, even for a novice welder. I really liked how all the pieces just fit together, and the locating tabs were also a big help. The one improvement I would make is to allow a little more room to access the inside of the bumper, or at least slightly larger access holes. Getting the license plate mounted was impossible for me, and the winch mount bolts were difficult. Aside from that, I love it!

The small shop that can AND DOES!!! A project type that always has challenges and no surprise I did. Bandon and the Coastal Offroad team were extremely supportive, service was excellent & responsive, and the product after several off-road excursions and a 10,000 km touring lap from Alberta down the entire Pacific Coast Hwy to Baja Mexico in the fall confirmed the bumpers performed to expectation!
